Build the rota once. The hours find their own way to payroll.
A children's home rota is not a shop rota. Sleep-ins hang off waking shifts, cover has to be found at short notice by whoever is on, and the same hours have to end up on a timesheet, past a set of checks, and in a payroll export that is right first time. Careframe treats the rota and the timesheet as one piece of work rather than two systems that have to be reconciled.

Set your shift patterns once and build a week from them, or copy forward from the week before. Careframe checks the things that are easy to miss at speed: two shifts that overlap, somebody rostered who is not available, and coverage that falls below the rules you set for this home.

A rota audit log records what moved, who moved it and when — which is also the answer when somebody says the shift was never theirs.
The right bank holidays
Each nation's bank holidays, not England and Wales's applied everywhere. A Scottish home gets 2 January and St Andrew's Day.
Timesheets that already know what happened.
The rota is the starting point for the timesheet, so nobody retypes the week. Where the hours actually worked drift from the hours rostered, Careframe shows the difference rather than silently picking one.
Before anything reaches payroll it goes past a set of checks — hours that look wrong, thresholds you set, entries still waiting on a manager. A check can be waived deliberately, with a reason recorded, which is different from it never having run.

Allowances per person, a running balance, and requests handled where the rota already is — not in a separate leave system.
Expenses and mileage
Staff claim against the period, managers approve, and it comes out in the same export.
A payroll export you can hand over
Approve the period and export it, or have it emailed on the schedule you set.
An audit trail on the money
Who changed an entry, who approved it and when — kept, and readable later.
What this does not do
- Careframe does not run payroll and does not pay anyone. It produces the export your payroll provider or accountant works from.
- It does not calculate tax, National Insurance or pension contributions.
- It does not tell you what your staffing levels should be. You set the coverage rules for your home; Careframe tells you when the week does not meet them.
- Holiday entitlement is the figure you set per person. Careframe tracks it and shows the balance; it does not work out what someone is legally entitled to.
